Emily Chancellor currently represents the Australia women’s rugby union team and Harlequins women. She plays as a lock and made her international debut for the Wallaroos in 2018.
Born on 20 August 1991 in Sydney, Emily Chancellor attended the University of Sydney. While studying, she participated in a variety of team sports, including netball, football and rugby union. She graduated with a degree in early childhood education and teaching in 2013.
After her undergraduate degree, Chancellor was awarded a scholarship to study masters of management. From here, she followed her passion for rugby and worked as an events coordinator for Australian Rugby.
By 2018, Chancellor had earned her first cap for Australia in a Bledisloe Cup match against New Zealand. Her performance during her first season led to her being named the Wallaroos Player of the Year 2018.
Fast forward four years and Chancellor reached new heights in 2022. She competed in tests against Japan and Fiji, played at the Pacific Four Series and represented her team in two matches during the Laurie O’Reilly Cup. Additionally, she was named for the delayed 2021 Rugby World Cup squad and scored Australia’s only try in their 41-5 defeat against England. Following the World Cup, Chancellor left NSW Waratahs to join Harlequins Women.

Emily Chancellor – part of a trio of Aussies who arrived in South London post-World Cup, along with Arabella McKenzie and Kaitlan Leaney – faced Saracens for the first time this weekend. The Wolfpack were, simply, much too good.
