Zoe Harrison currently plays as a fly half for the England women’s rugby union team and Saracens Women. She comes from a family of passionate rugby players; Harrison’s brother, Alex, played for Wasps, and her dad, John, represented Wales while at school. Her international debut came in 2017, when she was just 19 years old.
Born on 14 April 1998, Zoe Harrison started playing rugby at Tring at the age of five. Her talent was recognised early on and she joined the England Women’s development squad at the age of 14. Additionally, she played U15s and U16s at county level before representing England in the European U18s Sevens and the England U20s.
Hard working and dedicated, Harrison applied herself both on and off the pitch. She built her professional career while studying at Middlesex University and subsequently joined Saracens in 2016.
Zoe Harrison has enjoyed a successful club career to date. Her first big moment came in 2017, when she was named the Players’ Player of the Year. Then she was selected to start in the Premier 15s finals in both 2018 and 2019. In the latter of the two occasions, she scored 18 points and helped the team to win their second consecutive title.
After featuring in three autumn internationals in 2017, Harrison signed her full-time England contract in 2019. She was selected to play in every game of the 2019 Women’s Six Nations and won her first Grand Slam. One year later, she also featured in every match at the 2020 Six Nations Championship.
Continuing with her Six Nations success, Harrison featured in the 2021 tournament. She played in the final against France and celebrated as England won their third consecutive title. She then went on to feature for England at the 2021 Rugby World Cup, where the team reached the final.
With most of her career still ahead of her, we’re looking forward to watching more of Zoe Harrison’s powerful performances.
