Malakai Fekitoa

Malakai Fekitoa is a Rugby World Cup-winning centre who currently represents Wasps in the English Premiership. Throughout his distinguished career, he’s also represented Toulon, Auckland, the Blues and the Highlanders, and the All Blacks.

Born in Tonga on 10 May 1992, Malakai Fekitoa began his professional rugby career with Auckland in 2012. After impressing during his first season with the side, he signed to play for the Blues for the 2013-14 Super Rugby season.

However, from 2014, Malakai Fekitoa moved Super Rugby sides and began to represent the Highlanders (while still appearing for Auckland). Between 2014 and 2017, he went on to make 65 appearances for the Highlanders and he was a crucial member of the side that captured the Super Rugby title in 2015.

At the conclusion of the 2017 Super Rugby season, Malakai Fekitoa decided to leave New Zealand. As a result, he signed for Toulon in France. Following a successful couple of years with the side, he departed France and signed for Wasps in the English Premiership. He’s stayed with the side ever since.

Although he’s highly distinguished at the domestic level, Malakai Fekitoa is arguably best known for his time representing the All Blacks between 2014 and 2017. During this period, he was capped 24 times by the team and he captured the Rugby World Cup in 2015. He played his final test match for New Zealand against the British and Irish Lions on their 2017 tour of New Zealand.

Still only young and with plenty of years of elite rugby ahead of him, we can’t wait to see what else Malakai Fekitoa can achieve in the game.
